Biography
| For me, photography and a love of nature go hand in hand. My original photography subjects was, and still are, birds. For me, an additional challenge to bird watching is trying to get photos of them. My other photographic love is the landscapes, especially the rugged coastline and islands of the west coast of Scotland. A new photographic interest developed in August 2005 though, and that was butterflies. Previously, I had a phobia of them and would run a mile, but camera-theraphy helped to solve that and now I can't wait for the spring when the butterflies return. I cannot remember when I first started taking photos, but I can remember getting my first proper camera. I was aged 8, and the camera was a second-hand Olympus with a 300mm zoom lense bought for me by my parents for Christmas. What more could I have wanted? I had my dream camera and I stil have the camera today though it was retired a long time ago. Now aged 21, my current camera (which is this years Christmas present from my parents) is a Canon Powershot S2 IS. I can't wait to head back up to the West Coast of Scotland to see what photos this camera can produce of the place I personally think is the most beautiful place in the world. |
